It’s getting exciting!

By admin · Comments (1)

Well… there’s so much that has been happening..lol.. where to start?

Have you had a look at the VIP members area? There’s a little character that talks.. it’ll change pretty regularly, from people… to animals, and odds and sods.. so, check back regularly and have a squizz…

I have also loaded up all the 10 minute book excerpts to the VIP members area… so you can choose the book excerpt trailers you want to listen to and download. You can choose any or all of them.. there’s no limit.
Plus, every month you have the chance to win some great prizes. This month it’s an iPod Nano.

I’ve also popped video trailers up onto YouTube.. added them to the publishers pages here..and also to the fan page on Facebook. Oh… make sure you become a BookVo fan on Facebook too… the button is over to the right in the columns.

I’m working to get this into your local book stores … so when you stand in your fav bookstore, you can listen to stories over the pa system…and you’ll be able to download the audio book excerpts free from the store too… we’ll also create some special gifts for you with your favourite book retailer.

While you’re here… become a VIP Member… it’s $2.50 per month for all of the 10 minute excerpts… or join the free BookVo Club.. we’ll send out occasional emails updating you with the new book trailers… and what specials we have for you.

Hope you’re having a fantastic day! :-)

Hello again!

Well… since my last post.. gosh it feels like an absolute lifetime ago… I have been a busy bee.
There’s the new October book trailers, 6 fantastic new excerpts for your listening pleasure…
October Book Trailers

We also popped videos up onto YouTube… and some are featured here under the Publishers pages…

We’re in negotiations with book stores to have these played over the pa system. It’s something we have tested in the past with great success. A book store telling stories! The customers loved it.

And this month we have an iPod Nano up for grabs… you have the chance to win this when you become a VIP Member.

So.. take a look around… and of course have a listen to the new book trailers.

I hope you enjoy the audio catalogue of book trailers as much as we enjoy presenting them for you.

Have a fantastic day!

Why BookVo? My Story.

By admin · Comments (2)

I had someone ask why did I create BookVo… that’s a really good question!

I created BookVo for me and people like me.

To explain that further, I love reading books, in fact I devour them. My reading time is when I’m sick which is a rarity or late at night in bed… (after a busy day at work and running around looking after family, friends and a menagerie .)

I can get so involved in the story that it’s 4 am and I’m still reading. I’m getting a bit better at not letting that happen too often, though if you ask my partner he’d say it was still a frequent event. :-)

Anyway  I love reading.. but like most of us, I’ve bought books and for whatever reason, it’s been a waste of money. I just didn’t like it… and I don’t have much spare time during the day to stand in a book store reading dust cover after dust cover to find another book… nor do I have time to do the same on the internet.

I am busy.

So you see my problem?  A serious book habit I have to keep feeding, and not much time to spend finding new books and authors etc… I’ve tried audio books but I get bored with one voice telling the story. I don’t know about you, but when I read, I see the characters in my mind and I hear their voices.. so one person reading doesn’t quite do it for me… unless it’s just a narration then it’s okay.

Then one day an idea….BookVo!  (Book Voice Over)

An idea to let busy people browse books in a entertaining, interesting, relaxing, fun way while they’re on the move. Just plug in the headphones!

If you like the book, buy it… if you don’t… then just keep listening, there is no obligation.

I am a professional voice actor.  It’s my full time job and I love it!

So I called up a bunch of my colleagues and asked them to help put a demo together. I am incredibly proud of what has been created for you.  The voice actors featured here are awesome and I thank them for their help, gifts and amazing talent.

I hope you’ve had a listen to some of the book trailers

The books featured in the September Podcast demo are :

Wilbur Smith – Assegai

John Boyne – The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas

Cornelia Funke – Inkheart

Steig Larsson – The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

PC & Kristen Cast – Chosen (From the house of night series)

Each month we’ll have new samplers for you to download and listen to, and in the VIP members section we will have some incredible prizes for you to win.

There you have it!  BookVo.

Listen to professionally recorded excerpts of books to decide whether you like it or not… it fits in with your busy lifestyle and there is absolutely no pressure to buy. It’s also a great way to browse for Christmas presents / Birthdays etc….

Does it sound like a good idea to you?

I hope so.

I’d love to hear your feedback.

:-D
